Well, that's changing now – but there's no need to worry.

RATIONAL has discontinued its long-established 100-tablet cleaning tablet and replaced it with a completely updated version.
The new tablet is phosphate-free, meaning it not only cleans your oven properly but is also more environmentally friendly than before.
With this move, RATIONAL is heading in a direction that is increasingly expected in the hospitality industry – more effective, more sustainable, more eco-friendly.

What Changes in Practice?

Almost nothing that affects your daily operations or costs. You still need 1 cleaning tablet per self-cleaning cycle – exactly as before (of course, used together with the well-known rinse tablet as always!)
Compatibility hasn't changed either – the new tablet works just as well with every RATIONAL SelfCooking Center and CombiMaster Plus model.
So if you've had no issues with your machine's cleaning cycles before, you won't now either.

What has changed is the packaging – and there's a pleasant surprise here too. The new pack contains not 100 but 130 tablets, and it comes in a rectangular box instead of the old round bucket. Beyond aesthetics, the more compact format takes up less space in storage and is more efficient to ship.
The pack price is higher, but the cost per cleaning cycle remains exactly the same as before – so your daily operating costs don't change.
