Endurance test: MAXIMA mini ice machine
2017. 07. 12.
In this heat, people don't feel like drinking lukewarm water, so we brought a MAXIMA compact ice machine out of the warehouse and installed it in the office. So let's take a look at our experiences during use!
Commissioning
First of all, the machine does not need to be connected to a water supply. It has a large (about 2 liter) tank, fill it with tap water and you're done.
Once we've filled it with water, we turn on the machine and wait to see what it does. Well, not much for the first half hour or so :) However, this is the case with most ice machines, so don't expect miracles in the first 30 minutes after turning it on.
Size and quantity
So, in the first 10 minutes, only very small ice cubes (cylindrical) appear in the basket, and they almost melt in a few minutes. The size gradually increases, and finally after about 30 minutes, the first regular-sized ice cubes are made, and from then on there is no stopping, about 70 dkg of ice is made per hour, which absolutely corresponds to the 15kg/day capacity given by the manufacturer.
The size of the ice cube can be changed. (S/M/L size), we only liked the largest size, the smaller ones melt too quickly, it's better to choose the large one, although it makes fewer ice cubes per piece, they last longer. The device also signals when the tank is full, and production stops at that point, but restarts if you remove some ice with the shovel (standard accessory). Tip 1: It takes a few minutes to restart, so don't be scared by the red light.
Optimal use
It is important to note that this "preparatory" stage above is repeated every time we add fresh water to the tank, so what works for us is to add a lot of water at once (up to the MAX mark, which is about 3 liters of water). It is true that this way production starts more slowly, but the water also has to cool down less often.
In summary
The MAXIMA M-ICE 15 mini ice machine absolutely knows what the manufacturer promises and is a very good buy at this price. (Tip 2.: we have a customer who immediately bought several of these machines, and it was still much cheaper than a more powerful machine).
Who do we recommend it to?
Primarily for those who need a mobile ice maker because they don't have a water connection. In addition to them, for those who need ice cubes in small quantities but constantly. For example, a small cafe, a restaurant where cocktails are rarely ordered. Also for kind bosses who want to please their office workers on these tropical days. Or even for garden barbecues or cocktails! Order it now here!
Who do we not recommend it to?
If you use at least one kilo of ice per hour, you should look into our larger capacity ice machines! Our customer service is available if you have any further questions on the subject.
We've tested it, now it's your turn – get the MAXIMA mini ice maker from our website, and enjoy refreshing iced drinks at home or at work!
